Portland is known for its rainy winters. Having lived in the area for many years we have grown accustomed to long, wet, grey winters.

What Portland is not known for is snow and sub-freezing weather. Occasionally, we get an inch or two of snow during the winter, but this winter was unbelievable- we had the coldest overall winter since 1978 with numerous snow and ice events, shutting the city down for days at a time.

After this winter we are really ready to head south to warmer climates!
