Mission of San José del Cabo Añuiti- founded April 1730

After a month or two away from the dock, spending a couple of days in a city is a welcome treat. And San José del Cabo turned out to be a great city to stop in. With a population of just over 90,000 people, the city sports a historic downtown area filled with small shops and restaurants.

Dinner with the crew

There are not really any protected anchorages between Bahia Santa Maria and Cabo, so we were reunited with our group of 4 other boats that we anchored with at Bahia Santa Maria. Dave and Kelly aboard Arctos, Steve and Jen from Soulstice, Sonni and Brad of Luego, and Mike and Heather from Nanatuk were all at the same marina.

We tried to take full advantage of being in town. We checked out an art fair, ate the best carne asada of the trip so far, and sampled nearly all of the beach bars near the marina – nothing beats staring south into the Pacific with a cold margarita or Pacifico.
