We’ve just arrived in Juneau after a fantastic two weeks of exploring a small piece of Southeast Alaska.  There has been zero internet or mobile phone coverage between Petersburg and here, and we’ve encountered just about that many people, also.

When we got back into communication range, we found out that a few folks were concerned that our blog hasn’t been updated more frequently.  So, this is just a quick message to let everyone know that all is well – Madrone is safely tied up to a dock in Auke Bay (just north of Juneau), and Mike and Angie are doing well despite the lack of recent availability of french fries.

We’ve learned a couple of things from being disconnected for so long:

  1. Some people are actually reading this blog!
  2. We were spoiled by getting internet access every 3-4 days earlier in the trip.
  3. We need to improve our webmaster skills so that we can figure out how to update our website via our emergency satellite communicator.

Stay tuned – we’ll have more updates coming in the next day or two.
