Cleaning one of the disassembled winches
Have we mentioned it rains in this part of the world?
Today’s rain was different than the typical showers that we often have – this was part of a gale that blew in off the Gulf of Alaska, so we had high winds and periods of heavy, heavy rain. It was well forecasted, so we were safely anchored deep in Weinburg Inlet.
A few parts…
All that rain was a good chance for indoor projects, and we took the opportunity to service the winches that control Madrone’s sails and lines.
Each of the parts is soaked in a mineral spirits bath, scrubbed with a toothbrush and Q-tips, and then greased again. Ahh, the glamour of a boat….
