Enjoying a Budweiser in the cockpit on Independence Day

OK, America is much bigger than just the USA.  People outside the US would surely point out that the US is not even the majority of North America, much less all of the Americas.  So, of course we shouldn’t really call the 4th of July “America Day”.  But we do anyway!

4th of July feast

If you’re going to celebrate “America Day”, you might as well go all the way.  And we tried our best – we pulled out our American flag and hoisted it part way up the mast.  Hot dogs went on the grill (actually we only had kielbasa – much more delicious, but we pretended that they were hot dogs), and we washed them down with ice cold Budweiser.

Ko ‘Olina fireworks extravaganza

Ko ‘Olina resort puts on a pretty big fireworks display, and we walked from our boat down to the beach just after dark to join what must have been every guest from every hotel.  Good thing there is a lot of space on the beaches and lawns!
