While we were living in Sausalito last winter we found out that our dock neighbor Robert was from Monterey. When he found out we were headed there, he introduced us to his friend Joe, who keeps a boat in the Monterey marina and is a past commodore of the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club.
The club must not have known who they were inviting in…
We contacted Joe, and he invited us to the local yacht club for dinner and drinks one evening. Joe is restoring his sailboat with plans to start a charter business. We had a great evening chatting while enjoying the fantastic view overlooking the boats in the marina.
