Sailing from place to place is a great way to travel, but it can sometimes make simple things difficult. For example, buying things is generally not hard – we take for granted the ability to click a few times on a website, and then have a package show up the next day at our doorstep.
But when you have no doorstep, this simple thing can be hard. We try to take advantage of general delivery at local post offices, and Amazon Locker works well for small packages in large cities. But for receiving large parcels, it takes a special effort.
That’s just a small part of the reason we were happy that our friends Nichole and Tim made the drive from Las Vegas to meet us in San Diego. In addition to getting to spend time with them in the warm sunshine, we made sure to place orders for as many things on our list as possible. We arranged for delivery to Nichole’s veterinary hospital, and then the packages were personally couriered to us on Coronado Island in San Diego.
Good thing their car had a big trunk!
