Life on a sailboat is largely dictated by the weather. When the weather turns stormy, it’s almost always safer and more comfortable to hole up in a snug anchorage than it is to be out sailing. The converse is true for good weather – we try to take advantage of favorable winds whenever we can.
So, when the forecast for Thanksgiving Day was for 15-20 knot northwest winds, we decided to spend the day (and night) sailing about 150 nautical miles past Isla Cedros to Bahia Tortugas. We enjoyed a brisk broad reach under starry skies, and we gave thanks for the weather!
