Light but consistent breeze has yielded peaceful, smooth sailing all day. With wind steadily out of the south, we’ve now sailed east past the longitude of the Galapagos.
We’ve been on a starboard tack for 4 days now, and just before noon we tacked to a port tack. This means we’re heading towards the archipelago- we have about 170 miles to go.
Because we have a semi prearranged schedule for clearing in to the country and park, we been asked not to arrive for another 48 hours. We’re at the point in the passage where another day or two doesn’t really matter, so we’re continuing to sail slowly southwest. We’ll stop about 40 miles out to clean the bottom of any invasive growth, and then are planning to head in to port on Friday afternoon.
