After a frustrating afternoon of chasing wind – sails up, sails down, motor n, motor off, tacking this way, jibing that way – a squall rolled through with 20 knots of breeze on its leading edge. Madrone was sailing again, making 7+ knots in exactly the right direction. Instead of the usual wind hole behind the squall, the forecasted 15 knots filled in and we glided through the night with good speed and an easy motion. Nice sailing.
We’re more than 3/4 of the way there – less than 500 miles to go now. Hopefully the wind will hold for a few more days.
