We’re now firmly in the band of westerly winds, and the sailing conditions are just about ideal.
Like with many sailboats, a 15 knot breeze over the stern quarter makes Madrone (as well as her crew) happy. At that wind strength, there’s enough push to keep the boat moving at an easy six or seven knots. Here’s not so much strength, though, that the waves build to uncomfortable size.
We should have one more day of these conditions before things change – both boat and crew are enjoying it!
