Madrone has landed her first flying fish of the trip – this morning there were two unlucky guys that landed on the deck during the night.

Flying fish are a sure sign that we’ve arrived in the tropics, as are the increasing squalls and increasing air temperatures. It’s in the mid to upper 80s (~30C) during the day, cooling down to the mid 70s (~25C) at night.

It will surely get warmer as we continue to make miles north towards the equator, but for now we’re still enjoying he change from the past 4 months of cold and rain further south.

All’s well onboard.
