The tropics are hot and sticky.
The wind continues at 15-20 knots on the beam, and Madrone continues to make fast progress, now nearly directly northward. The fast sailing is great for eating away the miles, but it’s also wet – spray flies from the bow as we power through the waves.
It’s wet enough that we can’t really open any deck hatches; as soon as we do, he bow inevitably scoops up a wave, sending salt spray into the interior of the boat. So, the boat is mostly sealed up, which means that the hot, humid air feels doubly so. It’s comfortable in the cockpit, at least.
All’s well onboard.
