Oso is headed to the Caribbean! We left Santa Cruz de La Palma just after mid-day, and a few hours of motoring to clear the lee of the island deposited us in a gentle northerly breeze.

The wind and sea state were set up perfectly to ease us into passage mode. There’s enough breeze so that Oso makes an easy 7kts of speed, but not so much wind that the waves start to build. Smooth sailing under a sparkling array of stars for our first overnight of the passage, with the Milky Way a smear of light above the bow.

All’s well aboard.
