Just like on our last visit, Bermuda is a fantastic stop. The scenery is beautiful, the people are friendly and welcoming, and the sailing inside the fringing reef is peaceful.

And also just like on our last visit, the time to leave comes a bit too soon. But what looks like a reasonably decent weather window appears, and with the long term forecast showing only worse weather on the way, we decide to head south – Caribbean bound.

Day One
The forecast on leaving Bermuda promised a day of brisk sailing, followed by a night of sailing through an ominous-looking convergence zone with squalls and lightning.

The good news is that the sailing is very fast, and the lightning remains only distant sheets, instead of nearby bolts. The price, however, is a fairly sloppy sea state, making for a somewhat uncomfortable first night at sea. One hand for the boat!
