Island hopping on the Caribbean is undeniably nice, but dreams of destinations further south and west means that it’s time to move on.
One fantastic feature of trade wind sailing is that there’s nearly always wind. So the engine is on to raise the anchor, and then immediately off as the sails are set. As Oso noses out of Marigot Bay, her crew trims the sails for an easy broad reach.
With 100-200 boats anchored on the north side of St Martin, it’s easy to feel like part of the herd. But after a couple of hours, all of the other boats have receded into the horizon, and Oso again feels like the only speck on a giant blue disk of ocean.
