Typical passage between islands

Just west of the town of Bella Bella lies Queen Sound, an area of many small, rocky islands separated by narrow twisting passages.  This body of water is not visited by a lot of boats, perhaps because of the less-than-straightforward navigation, perhaps because it’s not really on the way to any other ports.

But it’s very pretty.  We stopped here for one night on our way north, and since we have a little more time on our way south we stopped again to explore some more.

Taking the dinghy ashore for leg stretching

One of our favorite type of anchorage is the small nook that’s only big enough for one or two boats.  We found those in abundance in this area, and we spent some time in both Maze Anchorage and in the McNaughton Group.
