This week, we had a visit from our good friend Dale from Corvallis. It’s always been great to have guests aboard, and this time was no exception.
Dale sampled a wide variety of ground transportation to come meet us – a car to Port Angeles, the Coho ferry across to Victoria, a city bus to Sidney, and then good-old feet after the bus driver forgot to tell him which stop to use!
From our anchorage in Roberts Bay near downtown Sidney, we motored through Boundary Pass with the Canadian Gulf Islands on the left and the US San Juan Islands on the right. We turned the corner into the Strait of Georgia and found a fantastic 10-12kt breeze from the northwest. We tacked back and forth, avoiding freighter traffic, before tucking into a nice anchorage at Cabbage Island Marine Park.
