Lucky Belly is a modern take on a traditional ramen shop, and it was so delicious the first time we made a special trip back into Honolulu to eat there again. Lucky for us, this place did not disappoint the second time around. Mike ordered the Shrimp Kimchee Ramen (again!) and Angie had the special of the day- lightly seared Ahi served over sushi rice and topped with a roasted red pepper tapenade, a lobster croquette and a salad with papaya dressing.
We were fortunate to be able to eat at Lucky Belly. And because everything is always in balance, we are unfortunately working on a repair to our 20+ year old toilet plumbing. We swung by West Marine to buy the (ridiculously expensive) hose to replace the original. Toilet plumbing project, lucky us? Not so much.
Needing to lift our spirits after thinking about the upcoming plumbing project, we set off to Leonard’s Bakery for malasadas. These little Portuguese donuts were introduced to Hawaii in the early 1900’s, and they are still popular here. They’re made to order, so they come out steaming hot. Oh, how delicious. We may need another trip back into Honolulu after all…
