Changing our shaft seal requires the prop shaft to be disconnected from the output flange of our engine.  Since disconnecting and then reconnecting the shaft can potentially cause a misalignment between the engine and the prop, we wanted to motor for a few hours to test the repair.

China Camp is a state park located in the north bay about 10 miles from Sausalito, and it was a perfect destination for testing the drivetrain.  We motored at our standard cruising RPM and were happy to find no new vibrations or noises after the drivetrain work.

Is it strange to go north for  the first stop on our trip south?
