Visitors!

A highlight of  Bahia Chamela was visits from a small pod of common bottlenose dolphins.  Madrone’s crew would be puttering around on deck, only to hear a  “pffft” from the side of the boat.  A quick look over the side would show a couple of dolphin backs and fins.  A few minutes later, there would be several dolphins swimming around Madrone.

The dolphins spent two mornings swimming about the bay, of course with the sole purpose of entertaining us.  They swam by the boat, stopped to rub their bodies on the anchor chain (it must be very itchy being a dolphin), rolled on their side to check us out checking them out, and occasionally leaping out of the water.   What a delight!
