One of the items shipped to St Louis was a new surfboard bag

Another long travel day (complete with 4am taxi pickup in a snowstorm, two flights, and another 4.5 hour bus ride) deposited us back in Barra.  After the whirlwind trip, it was time to relax for a couple of days to enjoy the boat, the surroundings, and being back in Mexico.

Relaxing by the pool

Our marina in Barra is located in the Grand Isla Navidad Resort, and one of the advantages of staying there is that the slip rental also includes full access to the resort amenities.  For us, the amenity that matters the most is the pool complex.   There are three terraced pools, each connected by a short water slide.  The final slide ejects you conveniently just a stroke or two away from the swim-up bar.

Luckily, the swim up bar was only a few strokes away

Looking up from a boat project one morning, we were delighted to see our friends Jenn and Stephen of S/V Soulstice pulling into the anchorage.  We first met them in San Diego on our way south, and then reconnected in Bahia Santa Maria and San Jose del Cabo.  Joining up for dinner, it didn’t take long to remember why we missed them.
