When we left Mexico, the sea temperature was a balmy 88 degrees. That’s a nice temperature for leisurely swimming and lazing about in the water next to a beautiful Mexican beach.
Since our living space on the boat is largely surrounded by the water, however, it’s difficult for the interior temperature to drop much below the sea temperature. And 88 degrees, especially with high humidity, is not pleasant for a living space.
So we’ve been very happy to watch the water temperature steadily fall as we’ve slowly worked our way south. We’re about 400 miles north of the Galapagos now, and the water temperature has dropped to 79 degrees here. It’s nice to be sleeping in cooler conditions onboard.
All’s well.
