Madrone pulled into Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on Isla San Cristobal, Galápagos Islands, right on schedule at 5pm local time. We dropped the anchor in 20’ of water and are swinging gently in the light evening breeze.

We have a mix of anticipation for exploring the islands, gratitude that the boat is no longer pitching and rolling, together with astonishment that we’re actually here. And, believe it or not, there’s also a twinge of disappointment that our simple life at sea has come to a close.
