Our tour to Leon Dormido also included two additional stops.

The dinghy landing site at Rada Tortuga

Rada Tortuga is a lava flow that is just starting to grow vegetation – it’s many brackish lagoons support mangroves and their ecosystem.

We explored the lava fields on the northwest side of San Cristobal

Cerro Brujo was advertised as the nicest beach on Isla San Cristobal, and after a lunch stop there we can’t argue.  The sand is powdered sugar, and with only eight of us on the beach it feels like the end of the world.

The impressive candelabra cactus finds a way to live in the middle of the lava

Pictures are worth at least a thousand words.
