Madrone made landfall today at Hanga Roa, Easter Island, Chile. The anchor hit bottom at 4:15pm, or maybe it was 5:15 – we’re not sure exactly what the local time is here.
The trip took us 2 weeks plus 2 hours, and we’re very happy to have arrived. The soft green of the volcanic hills is a nice change from the blues and greys of the last couple weeks, and from the brown of the Galapagos.
And there’s even a view of moais on shore from our anchorage, just so we don’t forget where we are…
