Madrone has arrived to the Chilean mainland! The anchor went down at 5:20pm local time in a pastoral spot called Puerto Ingles – 41 48.0S. 73 53.8W.

We’re delighted to be here and are celebrating with what feels like a well-deserved Escudo.

Tomorrow will bring the continuation of our trip towards Puerto Montt, but we need to time the current in Canal Chacao in order to get there – currents run at 5-8 knots in the canal, so we definitely need to be going down current to make it through.

Stay tuned for more detail from our 15 day, 9 hour passage.
