It’s great to see Angie’s parents, but the middle of a pandemic is not the best time to be a houseguest.  Good thing we’re back in the US, then, so we can take advantage of one of the great American traditions – the road trip.

Road tripping in style in our rental Toyota Camry

From the SF bay area we headed south to check the surf in Santa Cruz, to experience the central California coast near Cambria and Morro Bay, and to enjoy the beaches of San Diego.

We stopped in Santa Cruz to check the surf and we found almost 100 people at the Pleasure Point break alone! There were so many surfers, we couldn’t even get them all in one photo.

Moving back north, we zipped up California’s central valley and headed for Twain Harte in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Next up?  Your guess is as good as ours!
