All work and no play makes a dull crew.

To give us something to look forward to, we scheduled a mid-winter trip to Colorado for a little skiing and to visit friends. We invited Mike’s nephew James to join us from his home in Bristol, UK, and after long flights (especially for James) we all met at the Denver airport.

Four days of skiing in Vail (well, three days for the old folks in the group) was fantastic – we enjoyed mostly sunny skies and remarkably good ski conditions given that there hadn’t been any meaningful amount of fresh snow in a week.

A quick drive north on I-25 dropped us in Fort Collins where we met up with our good friends Jessie and John, their daughter Rylee, and their dog Lucy. Angie enjoyed exploring her old veterinary school stomping grounds, and it was really good to reconnect with our friends. We enjoyed walks around the neighborhood, checking out the building site for John’s new veterinary hospital, and of course the most American of traditions – watching the Super Bowl.
