For the nautical-minded in London, it’s hard to beat Greenwich. The Cutty Sark, the old Royal Navy Hospital, a gigantic maritime museum, and of course the Royal Observatory’s collection of clocks so important to the development of celestial navigation – all of them combine to make Greenwich a destination for sailing history.

But even with all that, one of the highlights of Greenwich is it’s eponymous park. A huge expanse of ancient oak tree-studded lawns stretches from the Thames up the hill to the Royal Observatory, filled with picnicking families, strolling couples, and romping dogs enjoying the outdoors more than anyone else.

It’s a great escape from central London, and it’s one of our favorite spots.
