Just across the Thames from Madrone’s winter home is Borough Market, located in the neighborhood of Southwark. There has been a market at this location since the 1200’s, and today’s version is full of meats, cheeses, seafood, breads and a wide selection of stalls serving prepared dishes.

The food is generally very good, and because it’s in the heart of London, it’s also reliably expensive.

It is very popular and can be incredibly crowded
