Southern Sweden borders the Baltic Sea, but the long western coastline faces three distinct bodies of water – Oresund, the long strait between Sweden and Denmark, the Kattegat, more or less a large bay off the North Sea, and then the Skaggerak, which connects directly to the North Sea between Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.
