A series of closely-spaced low pressure systems march across the Atlantic, and Scotland seems to be a bullseye for them. With the weather turning decidedly in the direction of winter, it’s time to take our leave.

Even with our limited exploration of the west coast of Scotland, we can see why this place has such a positive reputation among sailors. Beautiful scenery, solitude when you want it and civilization when you need it, and challenging navigation with large tides and strong currents all combine to make a fantastic cruising ground.

We hope to be back!
