One of the fantastic parts of the past several years has been the opportunity to spend more time with Mike’s sister Marian and brother-in-law Clive. While in the UK, we were able to get together with them in Cornwall, in London, in Ipswich, and at their place in lively Bristol.

So we were delighted that they made the trip to Spain for a visit, and there’s no better spot in Galicia for a tourism base than A Coruna. Just like during our last visit, we scored a spot at the fantastically-located Marina Real right in the center of town.

And just like during our last visit, A Coruna proved to be a able host. More than a hundred restaurants within a 10-15 minute stroll from the boat made it easy to fall into the Spanish lifestyle of long, leisurely lunches and late, extended dinners.

Day trips west to Finisterre and inland to Lugo, the only town in Spain with a fully intact Roman wall, were a good way to check out the Galician interior. The week visit flew by, and hope we get to repeat it soon.
