Located immediately between Old Town and Getsemani, Parque Centenario (Centennial Park) is a shady, treed oasis in the center of the city. Surrounded by iron gates and criss-crossed by walking paths, the park is a quiet spot in the midst of the bustling city.

For Oso’s crew, however, the main draw of the park is the wildlife – iguanas, monkeys, and especially three-toed sloths. While iguanas can be found in plenty of spots in town, the sloths and monkeys were allegedly released into the park by poachers in the early 2000s. The leaves of the healthy trees provide a plentiful food source for the sloths, and they apparently are thriving.
