Panama lies about 9 degrees north of the equator – that means that it’s hot! When we left, the bright afternoons made it impossible to sit outside without shade from the sun, and walking on the deck with bare feet was akin to searing steaks on the BBQ.
But now we’re well south of the equator, and the temperatures have moderated. It’s now pleasant outside in the shade, and we’ve switched to long sleeves or even a second layer for overnight watches.
The nighttime temperature is only about 78F/25C – our blood must have gotten thin during the last few months in the tropics.
All’s well aboard.
