Perhaps the wind wind is back? It’s forecasted to fill in later tonight, but we’re already on a nice beam reach in ~12kts. Hope it holds.

One of our daily activities on the boat is looking for chafe. The constant rolling and motion of the boat means that lines and sails are really vulnerable – we already nearly chafed through the cover of a 1/2″ line we were using for a boom preventer just because of a slightly misplaced knot.

So, every day we walk around the boat and actively try to locate problem areas before those problems find us. The latest find is some rubbing of the base of our boom vang against a furling line. So, we cut a chafe guard to size and hopefully solve at least that one.
