For the last several days, we’ve been in a race. Low pressure in the north central Pacific is tracking southward and eastward, and that low is pushing the low-wind high pressure area directly at us. After making it across the high and back into the wind, the high is now being pushed back towards us.

The results of the race are now in, and the best thing to say is that Madrone has been awarded a silver medal! Unfortunately, the high won the gold, and our wind continues to drop. We have been plodding along in 5-7knots of breeze most of the day, and the wind is forecast to completely shut off tomorrow.

Two pieces of good news. First, the wind should be back after 36 hours or so. And second, good fishing conditions let Angie reel in a beautiful albacore tuna! Fresh sushi for lunch today.
