Hanging by the pool at Villa Magnolia

After 6 nice days in Sayulita, team Zelman/Oldfield relocated about 20 miles south to the town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. Madrone’s crew moved back aboard, while Marian, Clive and James checked in to a suite at Villa Magnolia just a couple of blocks off the main street.

Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz

Complete with palm trees, a swimming pool, hot tub, and a family of resident iguanas, Villa Magnolia proved to be a great place to stay. A short walk to downtown made meeting up easy, and a short walk to the marina meant easy access to water toys.

And enjoying water toys is how the team spent most of their time. The protected waters of the marina were perfect for tooling around on the pair of inflatable paddle boards, and a calm day even allowed for towing a board behind the dinghy.

Captain Marian

As usual, sailing conditions on Banderas Bay were just about perfect. Madrone ferried Mike, Angie and James out to Punta Mita for some surfing, and the following day everyone joined for a peaceful downwind sail back to La Cruz.

Life is good.
