Day thirty-three finds Madrone sailing nearly exactly northwest, beam reaching through the warm NE trades. With steady winds of 18-22 knots, the ride is fast, wet, and rolly.
We made our final turn at around 1:30am local time, and as of noon the bow is pointed directly towards Antigua, about 600nm away. The wind is forecast to lighten from here, but only slowly, so the sea state should slowly improve as well.
Our daily mileage is still benefiting from the Guyana current, and also from the fact that there was an extra hour in the day today – we continue to occasionally set the clock back as we move westward.
All’s well onboard.
